Dirty Dancing premiered as a stage musical in 2004 in Australia before becoming an international success, running in London’s West End and touring worldwide. Adapted by Eleanor Bergstein, the writer of the original film, it retains the movie’s mix of dance, romance and social change, set against the backdrop of the early 1960s.
