Thespians has been developed by the award-winning company Mischief (the creators behind The Play That Goes Wrong). It features a book and lyrics by Jonathan Sayer and music and lyrics by Ed Zanders.
The show is set in ancient Greece and follows a group of budding actors who step into history, contend with gods, masks and amphitheatre antics, and quite literally find their voices.
Though this is the company’s first full-scale musical comedy tour, Mischief’s background in physical comedy and theatrical surprise gives this production a strong footing. It is scheduled to premiere at the Mercury Theatre Colchester in May 2026 before touring across the UK.
