With music and lyrics by Ray Davies and a book by Joe Penhall, Sunny Afternoon premiered in London’s West End in 2014 and won the Olivier Award for Best New Musical. It charts the journey of The Kinks from their early days in Muswell Hill through success, internal conflict and lasting musical legacy.
The show is celebrated for its authentic portrayal of the band’s spirit and the cultural shifts of the 1960s. Using live instruments and period detail, it captures both the excitement of rock and the personal stories behind the songs. This UK tour continues to share that energy, inviting audiences to relive the sounds and emotions of a defining era in British music.
