Created by the team behind Les Misérables, Miss Saigon premiered in London in 1989 and went on to become an international success. With a score by Claude-Michel Schönberg and lyrics by Alain Boublil and Richard Maltby Jr., the show reimagines the story of Madama Butterfly in a modern historical context. It won multiple Olivier and Tony Awards for its music and staging, including its famous helicopter sequence.
The musical’s blend of romance, tragedy and political tension has made it one of the most widely produced shows of its kind.
