Kiss of the Spider Woman returns in a striking new UK revival, directed by Paul Foster, bringing a fresh creative team and star casting to this celebrated musical.

Layton Williams plays Molina, a man who survives his imprisonment through a world of imagined film fantasies, alongside George Blagden as fellow prisoner Valentin. Anna-Jane Casey joins them as Aurora, the movie star who haunts Molina’s dreams as the Spider Woman.

Kiss of the Spider Woman is a musical with music by John Kander, lyrics by Fred Ebb and book by Terrence McNally, based on the novel by Manuel Puig. It premiered on Broadway in 1993 and went on to win seven Tony Awards, including Best Musical, Best Book and Best Original Score.

The 2026 UK revival, a co-production between Curve, Bristol Old Vic and Mayflower Southampton, marks the first major British staging since the 1990s. It will open at Curve, Leicester in April 2026 before transferring to Bristol and Southampton. Directed by Paul Foster, the production stars Layton Williams as Molina, George Blagden as Valentin and Anna-Jane Casey as Aurora. The creative team features choreographer Joanna Goodwin, set designer David Woodhead, costume designer Gabriella Slade, orchestrator Sarah Travis, lighting designer Howard Hudson, sound designer Matt Peploe and casting director Stuart Burt CDG.
