Kinky Boots tells the story of Charlie Price, who inherits a failing shoe factory and partners with drag performer Lola to make high-heeled boots for men, turning his business around in unexpected ways. It combines humour, heart and energetic music with themes of acceptance and self-expression.

Premiering in 2012 with book by Harvey Fierstein and music and lyrics by Cyndi Lauper, Kinky Boots quickly gained acclaim for its colourful story and bold themes. The show won a Tony for Best Musical and other major awards and eventually opened in the West End, where it also won the Olivier Award for Best New Musical. The story is based on a true event and explores what happens when business meets identity, as Charlie and Lola find common purpose in saving a factory through bold design and mutual respect.
