Sunshine on Leith was first staged by Dundee Rep Theatre in 2007, with a book by Stephen Greenhorn and music by The Proclaimers. It quickly became a favourite and was later adapted into a feature film in 2013. The stage version has since toured widely and continues to be a hit with audiences.
